For those of you who shudder at the idea of greens in your smoothie, please try this one, I promise you will not even taste them, but are still getting all the health benefits that they have to offer.
Who doesn’t love a good berry smoothie, they are awesome, and provide such a great platform to get loads of nutrients into our bodies, even if you don’t like some ingredients, but know they are good for you, chances are you will not even be able to taste them.
We have a smoothie pretty much every day, it’s our go to afternoon snack when the kids come home from school.
Will (my 5-year-old) will ONLY have the Sneaky Banana Smoothie and I am hoping as he is getting older and less fussy that he will branch out and try all the other flavours. Ava (my 9-year-old) on the other hand LOVES all the smoothies we make and often requests this one, knowing full well it contains spinach and kale!
There is no way most kids (well not my 5-year-old anyway) would drink a smoothie with kale or spinach in it, but with this smoothie the sweetness of the berries and banana mask the earthy taste of the greens, also health wise, it is fabulous, with the antioxidant rich blueberries, iron rich spinach and kale to names only a few of the nutritional goodies that are packed into this smoothie, it really is a super food power house smoothie.
You can have this delicious smoothie for breakfast, a light lunch a snack or whenever you need a pick me up.
Notes – if you avoid bananas, you can leave it out, but it will not be as creamy.
